Scripture

We believe that God’s Word, the Bible, is God-breathed, not mere human thought. It is divinely inspired and just as useful for our lives today as it was when it was originally written. We believe that God speaks to us through His Word. There is no other document on earth that contains God-breathed truth like the Bible does. Where human logic does not align with God’s Word, we, by faith, choose to believe God’s Word, and He is faithful to reward that choice.

Trinity

God is infinite, ever-present, all-knowing, unchanging, all-powerful, and more. God is One, yet expresses Himself as three co-equal Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

God came to earth as a perfect, sinless, human being in order to bear the just penalty for our sin and therefore He was able to bring salvation to those who call on His name in faith. Jesus is both God and man. Christ has died, Christ has risen, Christ is coming again!

Salvation

Ephesians 2.8-9 says it best: For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

While some religious traditions teach that salvation is dependent upon “being good enough” there is nothing farther from scriptural truth! We can never be good enough! Thankfully, we are accepted into God’s Kingdom by Jesus’ innocence, not our guilt!

Baptism

At White Oak, we believe that once you are saved, you should make a public profession through “believer’s baptism.” We have a baptismal pool that we fill with warm water. The pastor lowers you into the water and then lifts you out, symbolizing that you were been dead in sin, buried, and now you arise, washed clean, with new life in Christ!

Marriage

At White Oak, we believe in the Biblical definition of marriage: one man and one woman, co-equal, committed to a lifetime of love and grace.
